Convention for New Beginnings Video Bible Study Text:

Considering both text accuracy and screen readability, the following convention has been used for Bible quotations:

    • A Bible reference is given for each Bible quotation on the screen.
    •  Bible quotations are taken from the Bible translation which most closely represents the narrator’s iteration.
    •  The Bible reference on the screen indicates where the text was taken from, but may not include all of the material found there. Omissions within the text are indicated by ellipsis points. Omissions at the end are indicated by ellipsis points only if the thought is incomplete.
    •  Where the narrator’s reference varies within a verse or two from the text actually displayed on the screen, but is not misleading, the on-screen reference is given as narrated.
    •  All Bible translations quoted are listed in the credits.
    •  The Bible quotations are written on the screen exactly as worded by one of the credited Bible translations. However, for standardization and/or readability, capitalization and punctuation may be modified as follows:
      • Capitalization of names and pronouns for divinity has been standardized for this video series. For other than names and pronouns of divinity, the capitalization chosen will agree with at least one of the credited Bible translations.
      • Capitalization may be removed where it has been used for poetic form but would make screen-reading difficult.
      • When the narrator quotes only part of a sentence, that portion is capitalized and punctuated as a complete sentence as long as it contains a complete thought and still accurately represents the meaning of the text.
      • No double quotation marks are used to indicate a quotation on the screen; the context and reference make quotation obvious. However, single quotation marks indicate a quote within the quoted material on the screen.
      • Modern spelling or punctuation may be substituted for archaic.
